The world we live in is crazy.
Sometimes it feels like every nation, every corner of the globe, is shouting. Everyone wants change. Everyone wants someone else to fix what's broken.
But what if the world we are wishing for starts with us?
People often ask me, "How do you do it? How do you juggle everything? How do you keep going?"
Then come the words I hear all the time…
Resilient. Tenacious. Determined. Courageous.
If I'm honest, I think they are just words.
Because most days don't feel courageous.
Most days feel lonely.
Entrepreneurship has a funny way of making you look successful on the outside while you are quietly questioning everything on the inside. You keep showing up. You keep smiling. You keep solving problems. Yet there are moments when you are wondering if you have anything left to give.
Does that sound familiar?
When I started Naturally Tiwa Skincare, I could have simply bought shea butter from someone else and sold it.
Instead, I somehow found myself building a manufacturing facility in Africa, in Nigeria.
Some days I genuinely ask myself… Why?
Should I keep going?
Then I remember the emails. The messages. The people living with skin conditions. Those navigating cancer treatment and trying to soothe damaged skin. Women quietly struggling with menopausal skin and vaginal dryness, wondering if anyone is talking about what they are experiencing.
That's when I remember why.
For years I tried to be everything to everyone.
Not anymore.
I have finally found the courage to stay in my lane.
To serve the people who need us most.
It is not the easiest road. It is often a lonely one. Progress is slower than I'd like. There are days filled with doubt.
But purpose has a way of making even the hardest journey worthwhile.
If Naturally Tiwa Skincare can help someone feel comfortable in their own skin again, then every difficult day has been worth it.
Maybe changing the world doesn't begin with governments or headlines.
Maybe it begins with simply deciding to do the work that only you can do.
Here's a recent 'why I keep going' messages. This customer had received a product that didn't look right to him, and we solved the problem in the end but think about that feeling when a customer you've never met takes the time engage in a 12 email chain exchange:
"I've been using your products for a number of years now, usually buying them from Harrods or Superdrug depending on stock levels, and they've been consistently excellent for managing my psoriasis. The natural composition and the way they perform on my skin are a big part of why I've stayed loyal to the brand, and I think you've created an amazing product. However, this is the first time I've received them in this particular condition. I completely understand that higher temperatures can soften or melt the product, but in this case the texture has changed into a very foamy, aerated cream that feels unusually soft and light, to the point where you can put your hand right through it. I placed the products in the fridge overnight to see if they would reset, but even after cooling they remain very foamy with visible air bubbles and don't feel suitable for me to use, especially given how I rely on a more stable texture for my psoriasis."
